Babson Case Number: BAB111 | Length: 21 Pages

Abstract

This case presents a situation that many students will face who are seriously considering launching their own new venture. It allows students to go through the process of identifying and confronting both the attractive aspects and the worrisome uncertainties involved in a start up. Alternative strategies for dealing with the risks can be developed and discussed. Students should be asked to choose a path, defend their decision, identify their assumptions and how they will test them, and indicate what they will do if their assumptions prove false.
